Setup Guide

Requirements

  • Google account
  • OpenClaw with gog skill
  • Google Drive API enabled (Docs access is included)
1

Install gog + enable Drive API

Same setup as Google Drive. Google Docs access is included once Drive API is enabled.

2

Add documents scope (optional)

Add 'documents.readonly' or 'documents' to your gog scopes for explicit Docs permissions.

3

Test

Ask OpenClaw to summarize any Google Doc by name. Confirm it reads and responds correctly.

Configuration Example

skills:
  gog:
    enabled: true
    credentials: ~/.openclaw/google-credentials.json
    scopes:
      - drive.readonly
      - documents.readonly

Limitations

  • ⚠️Read-only by default — write access requires documents scope
  • ⚠️Very long documents may need to be queried in sections

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this require a separate setup from Google Drive?

No. If you've set up Google Drive integration, Docs access is already included. Just add the documents scope to your config.

Can OpenClaw write to Google Docs?

Yes, with the 'documents' write scope. It can append content, create new documents, and edit existing ones.
